I thought clean eating was just another fad going around, but it was practiced, due to necessity, by our early ancestors who hunted and gathered what was available to them. It is a healthy way to eat and I thought I would try it just to see if it was as great as others say. Well, I lost 20 pounds in just a few months, felt more energetic, slept better and didn’t come down with the local viruses that everyone else ended up with. The whole idea is to avoid processed foods that fill your body with unnecessary stuff and bogs the body down. There are 7 chapters and 151 recipes spanning from breakfast to main dishes all the way to healthy snacks and they include a chapter on Anti-Inflammatory recipes, like Pomegranate Steak and Kale Chips, and Ketogenic-Low Carb Recipes like Beef Stroganoff with Zucchini Noodles and Shrimp Scampi. We love the breakfast recipes including Carrot Cake Oatmeal and Coconut Pancakes, and the Falafel Salad in the salad chapter is magnificent along with the many different salad dressing recipes in the book. I particularly liked the Buffalo Chicken Chunks over Quinoa with Broccoli, Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed Pork, Seared Tuna with Shaved Vegetables and the Shepherd’s Pie almost tasted like my Mom’s. There is a whole chapter on Stir Fry and I loved the Chicken Fried Rice and Coconut Lemongrass Beef. My 3-year-old grandson loved the Brownie in a Mug recipe and the Pumpkin Spice apple chips in the snack chapter and I was fond of the Cranberry Pistachio Bars. There is even a chapter for beverages including Almond/Peppermint Hot Chocolate and a bunch of smoothie recipes including Chocolate Banana. There are also teas and coffees included in the chapter. Learn how to make your own applesauce, chili sauce, oyster sauce and many other things you would use in recipes. These are clean instead of containing ingredients we don’t need to put in our bodies. The recipes were easy to understand and most of them were very easy to make. I fully recommend this book to anyone that wants more energy and less illness in their lives.
This cookbook arrived two days ago and I LOVE it. I haven't yet tried any of the recipesyet, but I have earmarked quite a few to start out with. This book has such good energyabout it.. it makes me happy just looking at it!One teeny tiny criticism however: the recipe pages were NOT numbered, so I went throughit, page by page, starting with chapter 1, and wrote in the page numbers myself. Thiswas not a problem ..because I got to know the book really well. ;-)Today, I think I'll start ricing cauliflower and have it on hand..
I have been struggling with weight issues for the longest time now and so I decided to start eating healthy and that's why I purchased Clean Eating book. Clean eating means you avoid any processing that changes the food from its original state which is a much healthier state to live and get energy naturally. This book illustrates clearly the do's and don't of clean eating which have really helped me so far. There are numerous delicious recipes that one can use from this book with step to step instructions on how to prepare them. Clean foods are filled with vitamins and fresh minerals so why not go for clean eating? This has been the best read this year and I look forward to maintaining a clean eating schedule. This is a must purchase for everyone! Highly recommended.
This book has given me some important next steps to take in my quest for a toxin-free life! I've already cut out refined sugar, glutenous flour, and I make most foods from scratch. The recipes add some wonderful variety to my diet. I also appreciated the description of what you can do to different foods that actually won't damage their nutritional impact. It seems some processing is actually okay and some even helps make it easier for your body to absorb all the goodness that's bound up in your edibles. I learned a lot from this book. Thanks, Susan.
Avoiding foods that are processed is something I try to do and have done well in the past. Recently, I’ve gotten into the bad habit of eating way too much of these types of foods. I saw a fluctuation in weight gain and my energy level took a plummet. I decided to pick up this book as a refresher. Boy, did it help! Within a couple days I saw my energy level spike back up to where it used to be. Susan is able to outline the perfect “do’s†and “don’ts†of any clean eating diet. The recipes in this book range from breakfast, all the way to snacks. I can honestly say I would try every single recipe in this book. Not to mention, both coffee, tea and other beverages are covered and talked about. Zucchini noodles are a good alternative to regular pasta. I would have never thought of that! I love that there is a chapter about desserts as well. Just because you eat clean doesn’t mean you can’t have dessert!

There are so many amazing recipes in here! I have been in the fitness and wellness industry for over ten years and I found combinations that I had not even thought to try.I'm most excited to try all the different breakfast options like banana sushi, carrot cake breakfast oatmeal, and sweet potato pancakes. It is my favorite meal of the day. The desserts also sounded mouth watering. My top picks include brownie in a mug (a nutrient filled brownie for one), banana caramel muffins and cherry dark chocolate almond clusters.If you are "bored" of eating salads, chapter two will give you a whole new outlook. And don't fret, there is a whole chapter dedicated to beverages. Think lattes, smoothies, and flavored water. Bottoms up!!
