I really like the story however, I went from untouched to soulless... untouched left off with the main character finding out her mom had a sister and the main character not yet dating zack. To start of soulless. Where the main characters is already having typical visits from her new found aunt to zach and her are in a relationship and it is 6 months later.Did I miss something??? Is part of the PDF missing? from untouched or soulless. I even went through all the other books to see if they accidentally swapped the titles around and nothing.I am hoping someone will answer this. Cause seriously you going to leave a cliff hanger of she found a long lost aunt and not explain it I will ask for a refund for the other parts of the series I ordered. BEcasue that is too much of a skip by an author in my opinion.
** spoiler alert ** All I can say is that Souless will not disappoint! Sienna and her fellow Metahuman band of Directorate trainees are on their first mission to help locate and retrieve a meta that's robbing and wiping humans' memories of the crime. Are they ready for their first mission? Later, Sienna meets up with Reed and her Aunt Charlene, and along with Kat and Scott locate the Omega secret facility and Andromeda. Along the way,Sienna meets the one man she can touch without killing, James, but it turns out he's not one of the good guys. I'd have to say that the physical and emotional abuse dealt to this eighteen year old by virtually everyone is unbelievable, yet she handles it with a degree of maturity that shows that she's coming to grips with herself.Throughout this action packed series, we watch Sienna. this lonely little girl, rising above it all, as she valiantly tries to protects humanity. The ultimate showdown with Omega is brewing but only time will tell who is victorious. I'm anxiously looking forward to the Robert Cranes next book, Family.Jack Murphy
I do not know why I continue to read these books, I hated the first one with a passion. This one is worse. I do not want to give spoilers, but everyone makes the dumbest decisions. I understand an 18 year will make dumb decisions, but are you going to tell me the way they have there training set up is in anyway logical. I do not want to point out the huge problems with it, and give anything away, but the problems with the training defy any logic. The lead character is dumber than a rock, how many dumb decision can a person make in a day. Can anyone honestly not see each problem coming a mile away.I think part of the problem this may be, this is geared toward a younger audience, who do not think logical.
While I did enjoy the story line of the 'Girl in the box' series, the author has some grammar and spelling issues throughout all the books. I took off a star rating for that because it made the book more difficult to read. Just when you become fully engrossed into the visual images the story portrays, the grammar and/or spelling issues appear and break the reader out of the submersion. Several times there were sentences that seemed to be two thoughts in one as if he changed how he wanted to write that particular line mid-sentence and just kept going. Maybe Robert J. Crane just needs a better editor, proof-reader?
This is a little simple-minded and unthinking of character. The main character, would not react with the "sassiness" after years of abuse. Many of the other characters are equally shallow, although the situations are complex. Overall, the plot is interesting and the idea good.
## Plot: Just when you think "there is no way this could get better" Robert J Crane does it! As always the book has a lot of actions, twists, mysteries and revelations. Sienna's adventure goes on with new and old "friends" (I Highly doubt she would call them friends), she gets a better understanding of the doctorate and other Meta organizations and takes baby steps on finding more about her.## CHARACTERS: Sienna is changing, although her sarcastic remarks remain (at least to me) her best feature, she starts to learn more about herself and the person she wants it to be, and the author is very successful on displaying not only the mixed emotions a Meta would have, but also the ones of a girl turning into a woman. We also have a better look at Scott (who is slowly starting to grow on me), Kat (Bitch! sorry, I couldn't help it, Sienna's reservations toward her kind of rubbed off on me), Reed (who could easily have gone to Old Man winter's academy for the mysterious type) and Charlie (not going to spoil this one).## My Thoughts: Yet again I'm just waiting to start reading about this series on the mainstream media, this is just too good to not become a hit.Robert J Crane did a fantastic job with this one, you can actually feel what Sienna is feeling (that's how good this book is), you'll find yourself rooting for her and saying "Ah" "No way" out loud, and people will think you are weird for it, but you just won't be able to help it.As always, this book was amazingly written and edited and it's worth every single penny (and then some) that you'll pay for it.Of the series this one is my favorite so far and I do believe Robert was trying to give his readers an anxiety attack when he was writing this one (How am I supposed to wait for the 4th book?!)
I loved this book, I felt it did more for the series than book 2. I can understand why some people might get a little peeved at her drinking twice in this book though, but I kinda blew it off when I considered what her line of thinking might have been. I'm glad we are actually learning more about her powers a little, as well as her mother. This book is also a bit of a step back and unraveling for the character in the series as a whole. I feel like book 1 was her step into the world, while book 2 was her trying to move forward, and finally book 3 is her coming to a standstill (if not a step back) in both her powers (by basically using a drug to not deal with the problem), and as a person by making bad decisions. Its good but extremely slow character development in my opinion. Either way can't wait for the next book and definitely a good series to have picked up.
