The third book in the Carolina Connections series is awesome. It can be read as a standalone, however, I highly suggest reading the books in order. The characters overlap in each book going forward and it is wonderful to catch up on everyone’s lives. This is the story of Bailey and Jake. Bailey is a tomboy. She has been all her life. She doesn’t dress up and prefers pants to a dress. She is coaxed into dressing up for a special occasion and that is when she meets Jake. Bailey’s emotions take over. Now she can’t get him out of her mind or stop him from contacting her. What will Bailey do next? She has built up walls around herself after trusting the wrong person. Will she let Jake in or build up her walls even higher? I believe that Bailey is someone that doesn’t see her true beauty. She feels that she is plain compared to others and also that if she lets anyone in they will only break her heart again. Bailey has amazing friends that rally around her. Will Bailey take their advice about how to proceed with Jake? Will Bailey listen to her heart?Jake has returned to his hometown and reconnected with his family. They are very important to him. Jake is a guy that goes with the flow regarding relationships. He is okay with a quick hook up or even dating. He is used to his relationships ending at some point. Bailey is different. She is always on is mind and is always thinking of ways to see her again. He gets very creative. Will Jake be successful in his pursuit of Bailey? Can he make her see how special she is and how much he wants a chance to win her heart?This story had me rolling my eyes and laughing at the same time at some of the situations that happen. This story has no shortage of drama and I was telling myself “That didn’t just happen, did it?†This author has written a book and series that is very addictive. I am hoping for a next book and can’t wait to find out who will be the main characters. This book is told from the POV of both Bailey and Jake. It is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. This book does include some adult language and also sexual content. It would be for those 18 years of age or older.
This is a very fun, easy series to read.The characters are real. With real problems, concerns and insecurities. That they solve in believable ways.A core group of friends who would drop everything to help, to be that shoulder to cry on or even be your partner in crime.Jake and Bailey. Siblings to characters in book one and book two.I loved Jake. He was not looking for a long term relationship when he met Bailey. But was willing to go all in and be anything she would allow him to be shortly after spending time with her.Bailey was a hard nut to crack. She had huge trust issues when it came to men. She’s a tomboy, dresses and heels are torturous for her. She hides behind her clothes and bitchy attitude. Though secretly wanting what her two friends had. A man to love her unconditionally.They do have a happy, if not predictable ending. It’s a bumpy road, but they do get there.If you’re looking for a light, drama free weekend read these books would be perfect.
I just loved Bailey and her getting in touch with her feminine side, while Jake just tried to get by her side. Another romance with a big helping of humor thrown in. I love this series, the author really knows how to tell a story.
I'm officially obsessed, hooked, whatever you want to call it on this series! The Lucky One is one you can read on its own but these characters are my people! I loved the third installment except for the fact that there are two characters in this book that I really wanted to punch in the face! But that's how good the characters are and how awesome the story is. You get so sucked in, in the best possible way!
I really enjoyed this story. I haven’t read about the other characters in the series,but that didn’t take away from this story. This was fun to read. The author brought the characters to life. I have been reading a lot of heavy sad books lately so this light fun story was just what I needed.
5 stars for Jake and Bailey. I am in love with this author. This book continues the story of this group of friends. It took awhile for Jake to get Bailey to admit to him that she loved him. But she could not stay away.
I loved Sylvie's first two books so I was excited to receive an ARC copy for an honest review. I love Bailey and Jake. So cute together. And so funny. Love the humor in all the stories . And I love following characters from the other books. Looking forward to Gavins story next.
My third book from Sylvie and while I've been crazy busy once I got to set down and read it.....I read it in no time. It was a easy read filled with strong characters, humor and romance the things I have come to love in her books. Sylvie does a great job and filling you in on all the characters that have been in her previous Carolina Connection series so it is a stand alone read but why miss the other two? I highly recommend this series, its nice to find your self snickering and cheering for the tough guy.
